Massimo Brignoni is an architect graduate M.Arch at Iuav University of Venice in 2000.
Professor at the Department DESID in the University of Republic of San Marino in the Design area. Director of the Master’s Degree Programme in Interaction and Experience Design and Delegate of the Rector for the University’s Third Mission. He teach Product and interior Design in San Marino and he is an adjunct professor in the Degree Programmes in Industrial Design at the University of Bologna.
The interest and research lines are on the role of the design discipline in the processes of reactivation, regeneration and enhancement of marginal territories and communities. A design focused on social and environmental issues, aimed towards the solution of real problems, the sustainable use of resources and respectful of local traditions and cultures. In particular, he is interested in the role of traditional craft knowledge, in terms of technical and productive skills layered over time, and in locally available natural materials, both of which are integral parts of the material and immaterial culture of territories. Over the years, he has developed research projects both in the field of international cooperation — in Vietnam, Bangladesh, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal — and in more familiar Italian contexts, such as the artistic glass district of Murano in Venice, the straw hat district of Signa in Tuscany, and the peripheral and inland areas of central Italy. – design.unirsm.sm
Since the years following his graduation, he has combined academic activity with professional practice. He works mainly in interior design, retail design and the development of new commercial formats. In recent years, he has specialised in interior design for the health and personal wellbeing sector, developing numerous projects for healthcare service centres, pharmacies and spaces dedicated to personal care.
