Scientific Committee
Valter Luca De Bartolomeis is Principal of the Polo delle Arti Caselli Palizzi, Director of the Museo Artistico Industriale di Napoli (Naples Museum of Industrial Arts), Director of the ITS MA.DE. Academy for Manufacturing and Design, and of the MuDi – Museum of Ceramics and Porcelain Education. He also serves as Curator of the Museo Correale di Sorrento.
He holds a University Master’s degree in Innovative Teaching for Learning and Inclusion, a PhD in Industrial Design, an Advanced Specialization in Furniture Design, Design and Graphics, and a Postgraduate Specialization in Industrial Design from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Naples Federico II.
He teaches at Italian universities and academies, serves as a Well-Made Ambassador promoting excellence in Made in Italy, and is Vice President of the International Study Center “Design Handmade in…®”,. He collaborates with numerous national and international universities and has organized and scientifically coordinated a wide range of workshops, seminars, exhibitions, and conferences.
He was a member of the scientific and organizing committee of the WD – Workshop Design, part of the Compasso d’Oro selection in 2004, as well as many other educational, competition, and research initiatives. His work was selected for the ADI Design Index leading to the Compasso d’Oro in 2019 with the Porta Babà project, in 2022 with the Caselli Istituto Raro project, and in 2025 with the Cign’oro project. Also in 2025, the project Caselli Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte per il Sociale was selected for the Compasso d’Oro International.
He writes for La Repubblica, Il Sussidiario, Area, DIID, Materia, Linea Grafica, and numerous other journals and magazines, and is the author of several books on design and communication.
His projects have received awards and recognitions at both national and international levels.
He is currently engaged in experimental research carried out through workshops and collaborations with universities, schools, and companies.
